Brother International Corporation Introduces INKvestment Tank Printer That Eliminates Cartridge Replacement

Irwindale, California, USA, 2019-Dec-09 — /EPR COMPUTERS NEWS/ — The Brother International Corporation has successfully introduced the first INKvestment Tank printers to the market. This revolutionary tank technology can provide up to 365 days of ink which is efficient for 150 worry-free pages for every month.

The MFC-J995DW printer comes with a built-in ink storage tank. Hence, the mechanism has shifted from cartridge to inside the machine, resulting in maximum page yields. Also, with the storage tank designed inside the printer, the ink in the cartridge significantly increases and delivers up to 1 or 2 years of printing.

According to the company’s senior director of B2C product marketing, Phil Lubell, the Brother INKvestment Tank was engineered to resolve printing challenges like the ink diminishing and the need to replace the ink too soon. He went on to say that their research has shown that most people don’t like the hassle of replacing ink and they would rather throw the printers away.

With that in mind, Phil says that the INKvestment Tank MFC-J995DW delivers a great impact to businesses and office users since it gives a year’s worth of ink without the need to change cartridges. Hence, they can focus on other vital matters without worrying about their printing needs.

The Intelligent Page Gauge of this printer will also take away the worry of your ink diminishing at the wrong time. This smart technology keeps an eye on how the ink is used. It then displays an estimate of how many pages are remaining on a 2.7-inch color touch-screen.

Replacing the ink is also very easy thanks to the INKvestment Tank high yield cartridges. Eric Dahl, who is the director of B2C product marketing, noted that people hate changing ink cartridges, especially without any warning. That is why the new lineup maintains the benefits of a cartridge and they are designed with cleanliness, simplicity, and familiarity.

Brother inkjet cartridges are not only clean and quick, but they’re also very cost-efficient. They allow you to print for less than $0.05 per page in color and less than $0.01 per page in black and white.

With all these great specs, Brother’s INKvestment Tank technology offers great capabilities to ensure a seamless workflow. It also delivers numerous output options that enable you to deal with a plethora of projects including printing wirelessly that doesn’t require any setup.

You can scan and print wirelessly from your laptop, desktop, tablet, and smartphone. Sharing documents is possible using Brother iPrint and scan or using ‘print from and scan to’ cloud apps like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and more.

Try before you buy with South East Labels

South East Labels (SEL), the West Sussex label provider, now allows customers to try out products before purchasing them. This marketing initiative allows interested buyers to test the quality of a product before finalising a purchase.

Storeowners are often hesitant to upgrade their labelling systems, because there is no guarantee that a newer system will be more expedient. This leaves cashiers with out-dated scanners and verifiers that rarely scan on the first attempt.

Annoyed customers are then forced to stand in long queues waiting for the faulty system to register a reading – a problem most evident in grocery stores where it’s possible for a single customer to purchase over 100 items, which must each be scanned individually.

SEL’s “try before you buy” approach to labelling products removes the risk of upgrading to a system that’s incompatible with a storeowner’s needs. If storeowners are unhappy with the quality of a product, then they can try another or simply retain the system that they have.

When it comes to label manufacturers UK companies rarely offer such a transparent approach to sales. But the people at SEL are confident that their products work, and they express this belief by allowing potential buyers to try new items.

It is likely that more label companies will follow SEL’s lead in the near future. Customers like to know what they are buying, and this is especially relevant when the efficiency of their businesses is at stake.

Feeling Artistic? Design Your Company Labels

Do you feel that your business or company needs that extra touch of class to stand out from the many competitors in the market? Little details such as improved and personalised labels can be the kind of features that would sway a customer to purchase your product. The best way to get labels exactly the way you want them is to actually design them yourself.

Making your labels on a computer needn’t be the laborious or artistic challenge that many may think. There’s some excellent software on the market at the moment which is built to give even the most inexperienced among us the chance to design something. After you’ve chosen how your labels look, you don’t have to wait around for them to be sent to you in the post as you can just print what you want when you want.

The market is full of design software which can cater for these kinds of needs, but there are two programmes which are particularly accessible and come highly recommended. These are EnLabel which is a Windows label designer which comes with many features as well as Batender Basic and Pro which supports multiple label designing and much more. South Coast Labels Urge Better Info Management

South East Labels expects a continuing growth in demand for barcode and scanning equipment for information management purposes. Just a quick glance at recent news stories will explain why.

The phone hacking scandal that has sunk the News of the World Newspaper and besieged News International is an example of what can happen in complex organisations with poor data management and retrieval systems. The problems at New International have been exacerbated by alleged criminal activity, and the scandal inflamed by lackadaisical, if not corrpupt, internal and police investigations.

However, the underlying story is one of a commercial organisation struggling to manage the volume of information for which they are responsible and which will shed light on their business performance. In terms of the metropolitan police, the picture may simply be one of a failure to prioritise the time-consuming job of sifting documentary evidence.

That job now falls to Lord Justice Levenson who will head a judicial enquiry into phone hacking scandal and into media regulation generally. His job will be even more complex as, in addition to the mountains of documents from News International, there is likely to be hundreds of transcripts of interviews and statements to consider.

A process such as this can only be managed by barcoding packets of incoming documents, scanning them, and linking the storage location to a database which will enable easy retrieval and eventual archiving. South East Labels has experience of such systems being a trusted supplier of barcode printers and scanners.

CDL Repeats Green IT Awards Success

Leading IT disposal company CDL has triumphed for the second year in a row at the Green IT Awards, winning Recycling Project Of The Year in recognition of a highly successful strategy devised for The Co-operative Travel.

CDL helped to refresh 1,900 systems for the travel industry giant by devising an effective scheme to collect old computer equipment and deliver new hardware, by visiting multiple sites in close proximity on a daily rota. CDL’s security-cleared drivers and vehicular satellite tracking ensured that data security was not compromised.

The ingenious project not only produced fantastic results for The Co-operative Travel, but also succeeded in attaining CDL’s environmental objectives.

The delivery and collection schedule created by CDL reduced the projected timescale of the overhaul by six weeks and cut anticipated fuel use by an enormous 500 per cent (approximately), slashing both the expected cost and carbon dioxide emissions.

CDL Director Jean-Pierre Naylor said: “We are thrilled to be honoured by the Green IT Awards for a second year and proud of our achievements with regard to this project.

“As well as making huge savings in fuel and pollution, we were able to refurbish and reuse 100 per cent of equipment collected from The Co-operative Travel – and we also reused all packaging. We were so pleased with the outcome that we have implemented the project’s principles in our daily business practices, which also include printer recycling.”

Demonstrating the kind of innovative thinking that has led the company to awards success, CDL also used the opportunity to experiment with cutting motorway speeds by 5 per cent, which resulted in a fuel saving of 12 per cent.

HP Announces New Appointment for Carl Boustany

HP announced that Carl Boustany has been appointed HP IHPS segment specialist for Middle East, Mediterranean (Turkey and Greece) and Africa (MEMA).

Based in Dubai, Boustany will provide support for the IHPS team within the MEMA region, promoting the HP T200 and the T300 Inkjet Web Presses. Following the success of these products in Europe, Boustany’s role will be to further increase sales for IHPS and boost the conversion of analogue to digital in this region.

“The digital printing industry is growing rapidly and there is great potential for the adoption of Inkjet Web Press technology in MEMA. I wanted to be a part of a company that is at the forefront of driving this growth,” said Boustany. “I felt that this role would be a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to providing this region with the technology it needs. Over the coming months, I will be looking for new business partners to support the developments planned and the growth of this market.”

Boustany has spent 15 years in product and sales management within the printing industry and by taking his new role at HP, he was looking to further develop his experience and learn more about digital technology.

“I believe there are exciting times ahead as this is a new side of the industry for me, and it’s still relatively fresh for the region of MEMA,” continued Boustany. “Installing an HP T200 or T300 press brings fantastic business opportunities to companies producing books, transactional print, direct mail or newspapers or considering moving into these areas of business, and I am eager to start communicating these benefits to the marketplace.”

Since its first commercial installation in December 2008, the HP T300 Color Inkjet Web Press has accelerated the advance of digital printing from niche to mainstream applications by offering cost-effective, high-volume digital colour production. The press prints a 762mm (30-inch) wide roll with 1,200 x 600 addressable dots per inch four-colour-process printing at a speed up to 122m/min (400ft/min).

South East Labels Comments That Consumers Are The Latest Group To Benefit From The Barcode

The barcode was born from an alliance between manufacturers and retailers. South East Labels, a leading supplier of labelling services and systems, today commented that barcodes are increasingly being used by consumers to further their own ends. It seems that the data contained in a barcode is no longer just owned by the unholy alliance of those who make and those who sell. So, exactly what are those who buy using barcodes for?

When the barcode was patented in America in 1949 retailers and manufacturers had to wait for computer science to catch up before its full potential could be realised. At its heart it is not the barcode per se that does the work but the data that can be attached to it. With such data a simple barcode scan can help track, pick and deliver stock. Once in store this stock can be counted, monitored and automatically re-ordered. Using this data checkout waiting time can be reduced – helping goods sell quicker and getting more paying customers out the door. Furthermore a barcode’s data facilitates the smooth operation of complex and varied price promotions throughout the store.

According to South East Labels, however, the barcode may be striking back. It appears it is no longer serving as the hand-maiden for the efficient supply and sale of goods. Recent events suggest the barcode may also now be a tool for consumers to use, and in ways that may not be how the manufacturers and retailers ever dreamt of.

Stroll down a supermarket aisle. Stop at the soup – keep going past the dried stuff till you reach the tins. Locate a well-known variety of Tomato Soup. Now find the 300g tin. The barcode on this if scanned by a mobile device has provided thousands of music fans with a free mixtape from The Streets’ Mike Skinner. That will be without the manufacturer’s permission. Perhaps not since Warhol appropriated the image of a can of soup as an artwork has pop culture shamelessly plundered soup tins packaging to its own advantage. If this seems too absurd to be true – download the free Mike Scanner app and try for yourself. The barcode seems to have taken on a life of its own beyond its original intentions.

Another example of the barcode being made to strike back is slightly less obscure. Fooducate is an app for mobile devices that reads the barcodes of food packaging. It provides not supermarket cost prices or stock levels however. Instead it aims to cut through the fudged wording and smoke and mirrors that can characterise food packaging. It gives each product a simple to follow health rating and suggests alternatives if you find your health snack is actually a health hazard.

The barcode, it seems, strikes back – the rich data it enables are increasingly being used by consumers as well as by retailers and manufacturers. This merely serves to underline the on-going importance of the barcode. A spokesperson for South East Labels commented that “it’s interesting to see the uses that are being made of barcodes. We have been providing labelling services, software and products since 1988. If your business needs security labels, printed labels or barcodes we can help ensure they are provided in a timely manner. We can’t, however, stop Mr Skinner from attaching a download to a scan of them.”
